Reflection on All Saints Conclusion

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  11/13/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

As I said last week, today’s Pastor’s Corner will conclude my reflection on All Saints. By institution of the feast of All Saints, the Church wants us to understand that our fundamental call as Christians is a call to holiness and this call is not restricted to the clergy or consecrated persons, rather it is universal.

Reflection for the Feast of All Saints Part 1

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  11/09/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

Last week we celebrated the Solemnity of All Saints, and it is my wish to share a reflection on this great feast of the church. In the 9th article of the Apostle’s Creed, we profess “I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saint.” It is exactly that Communion of Saints, “Communio Sanctorum” in Latin, that we highlighted last week as we celebrated the Solemnity of All Saints otherwise known as All Hallows.

All Souls’ Day: Remembering, Hoping, and Believing in the Communion of Saints

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  11/02/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

This feast of All Souls’ Day celebrated every November 2nd is an act of intercession born of communion. We Catholics, trusting in God’s infinite mercy, pray for the souls in Purgatory, those being purified in preparation for heaven (Romans 6:3–9 – “If we have died with Christ, we shall also live with him”, John 11:17–27 – “I am the resurrection and the life….”).

October: The Rosary and Devotion to Saint Joseph. Conclusion

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  10/26/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

I wish to conclude the reflection I started last week on the Rosary and October devotion. October also shines as the month of the Holy Rosary —a devotion Pope Leo XIV calls “the heartbeat of a Church that prays.” The Rosary remains one of the simplest yet deepest ways to draw near to Christ through the eyes of His Mother.

October: The Rosary and Devotion to Saint Joseph Part One

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  10/19/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

As the month of October is gradually coming to an end, I wish to share some reflections on the rosary and the origin of this beautiful prayer said in the month of October. Every October, just like this, the Church invites us to appreciate more deeply two treasures that never lose their glow—the Holy Rosary and Saint Joseph, the humble guardian of the Redeemer and protector of the Church.

Preserving Orthodoxy and Trut

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  10/12/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

I continue my reflection in this forum on some doctrines which I started last week. Today I reflect on heresies and the church’s response. Every age has its peculiar fake news, counterfeits, and scams. Today, we deal with online fraud, pyramid, or ponzi schemes, and misleading headlines that spread faster than the truth.

Jesus Christ – True God and True Man

by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F.  |  10/05/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Beloved Parishioners,

Today in this forum my intention is to touch on one of the doctrines of our faith, Jesus Christ true God, and true man. In the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, which we profess at Mass, there is a section on the Son that I want us to meditatively reflect on and it reads:
