Persistence and Never Give Up in Searching for God

by Fr. Elario Zambakari  |  08/16/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

Today’s gospel presents us with the story of a Canaanite woman who seeks Jesus’ help for her daughter who is under demonic influence. Jesus’ response and the woman’s faith challenge us on how to respond when we seek God’s assistance in moments of need, trial, and difficulty.

Courage: Do Not Be Afraid

by Fr. Elario Zambakari  |  08/09/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

Today’s liturgy assures us that Jesus is with us even when the storms of life try to hit from different sides. We should focus our eyes on Jesus, who always comes to our aid. We should not only turn to Him when we are in need or when we are in big trouble, but should always go to Him at every time, as a child goes to the mother all the time. Let us not forget that Jesus awaits us to come to Him with our joys, sorrows, challenges, fears, and troubles.

What Do You Do When You Are in Pain or in Grief of the Loss of a Loved One?

by Fr. Elario Zambakari  |  08/02/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

Today’s Gospel presents us with the compassion of Jesus that moved him to cure the sick and feed the hungry who were looking for him. Thus, his compassion is a typical demonstration of love for us at every moment even when he is in pain, tired or in agony. The Courage to Give Up All to Possess Eternal Treasure

by Fr. Elario Zambakari  |  07/26/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

What particular gift would you ask of God if he spoke to you in a dream tonight and gave you your choice? Many would ask for badly needed health for themselves or for a family member. God is the Final Answer

by Fr. Elario Zambakari  |  07/19/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

We are presented with the Book of Wisdom in the first reading of today. It is one of the last Old Testament books to be written and it gives a good reflection on final judgment, resurrection, and eternal life. The Book of Wisdom treats topics like immortality, righteousness and encourages us that God’s wisdom can be gained through a life of humility. God grants wisdom to His children who are humble and obedient. The part of the book we read today reflects on God’s mercy and how God judges with clemency and gentleness.

The Seed Sown on Rich Soil

by © LPi Fr. John Muir  |  07/12/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

Sometimes I feel capable of absorbing almost anything except God’s Word. My mind soaks up song lyrics, sports trivia, and endless online content. But what was the reading at Mass this morning? I struggle to recall. That realization discourages me, and it leads to an uncomfortable question. What is my heart really for? Is it shaped for constant information and distraction, or is it truly designed for God? Am I capable of deeply receiving His Word?

Our Nation Celebrates 250th Anniversary

by © LPi Fr. John Muir  |  07/05/2026  |  Weekly Reflection

This weekend, our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Unlike most nations, the United States was not founded primarily on a shared ethnicity, language, or culture. Instead, our founders built a political community out of diverse people united by a shared vision of liberty. That vision echoes something deep in the Christian mystery revealed in today’s Gospel.
