More Truth, More Cost
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 09/28/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
Everyone can testify that truth is a beautiful yet costly treasure. The Greek philosopher Plato once observed, “No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.” History and Scripture confirm this sobering reality: to stand for truth is often to stand against the tide of comfort, convenience, and compromise.

Vessels of Clay, Carriers of Grace
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 09/21/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
Each year, in the month of June our diocese marks a joyful rhythm as it is — the season of priestly and religious ordinations. In this month in the diocese new priests are consecrated, deacons ordained. In my own country the month of July and August across the length and breadth of the country is marked by many priestly ordinations and religious professions as well.

The Cost of Discipleship in 2025
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 09/14/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
Today my reflection is centered on the cost of discipleship. Discipleships have never been cheap as you see even from last Sunday’s reading. It has never been a walk in the park. Jesus Himself declared: “If anyone wants to be my disciple, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Luke 9:23). Elsewhere He adds: “Anyone of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:33).

Living as Pilgrims: Walking Light in a World That Clings
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 09/07/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I feel I need to remind us again that we are still in the context of the Jubilee Year of Hope. A Jubilee Year is a sacred reminder that we are on a journey. We are not settlers; we are pilgrims. The Church calls this year the Jubilee Year of Hope because hope is the pilgrim’s lamp — the light that keeps us walking when the road is long and the night feels deep.

Faith That Sees the Unseen: Walking with Abraham in Trust
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 08/31/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
As we come to the end of this month my reflection in this Pastor’s Corner is centered on Faith. My prayer is that God increases our faith in him that we do not doubt his power in our lives.
“Faith is being sure about what we hope for, and certain about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).

“He Sent Them Two by Two” – Retracing Our Missionary Identity Conclusion
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 08/24/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I conclude my reflection started last week on our missionary identity. As I mentioned in last week’s Pastor’s Corner and during the Masses, beginning in September we will embark on an evangelization process in our parish.

“He Sent Them Two by Two” – Retracing Our Missionary Identity
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 08/17/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
In the last two weeks I said in all the Masses that beginning from the month of September we would embark on missionary outreach and evangelization in our parish. It is a call Jesus gives everyone of us as a Christian and Catholic to step out and invite someone to come to him. This motivates the topic for today’s Pastor’s Corner.

Love that Crosses Boundaries
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 08/10/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I reflect with you “who is my neighbor”. This theme appeared in Luke’s gospel passages we read a few weeks ago. In Luke 10:25–37, Jesus responds to a lawyer’s question — “Who is my neighbor?” — with one of the most unsettling and revolutionary stories in all of Scripture: the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Baptism: Our Consecration to Prayer
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 08/03/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
Have you ever considered that your baptism was not just a ceremony, but a consecration—a setting apart for something sacred? Today, beloved parishioners, I wish to draw our hearts to this powerful truth, namely: that we are a people consecrated to prayer. This consecration began the day we were plunged into the waters of Baptism.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus — “Come to Me and I Will Give You Rest” Conclusion
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 07/27/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I wish to conclude the reflection I started a few weeks ago on the Scared Heart. For many of you who follow the Pastor’s Corner weekly, I promised to conclude some of my reflections on various topics in the next couple of weeks. Today, the piece here is the conclusion of the reflection on Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Update on Parking Lots and Young Adults
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 07/20/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I send you my warm greetings in this summer season. I pray for God’s protection upon each of you as I ask the Holy Spirit to continuously abide with you. Many of you who have been following my regular Pastor’s Corner will know there are still some outstanding reflections yet to be completed but I had to pause this weekend to share some updates on the parish life.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus — “Come to Me and I Will Give You Rest” Part 1
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 07/13/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
Three weeks ago, we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I find it necessary to share some reflection on it as I could not do it earlier. On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are invited not just to reflect on a symbol of God’s love, but to enter into the very Heart of Christ—a Heart that loves without limits, suffers for the world, and longs to draw every soul into His rest.

The Princes of the Apostles Conclusion
by Fr. Tony Okolo C.S.Sp., V.F. | 07/02/2025 | Weekly ReflectionBeloved Parishioners,
I conclude the reflection I started last week on Princes of the Apostles. The Church celebrates them together because they embody the unity and diversity of the Christian mission: Peter as the first bishop of Rome, shepherding the local Church, and Paul as the missionary evangelist, spreading the faith far beyond Jewish communities.
